Definition and overview of the systems biology approach; examples of systems biology studies in immunology and vaccine studies; learn how to perform transcriptomic data analysis and correlation analysis with immunologic data.

Course content

Day 1 will be dedicated to lectures on systems biology in general and to more specific application in the immunology and vaccine fields.

Day 2 will alternate lectures with an hands-on analysis of transcriptomic data.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will build a solid theoretical background on systems biology and will learn how to approach transcriptomic data.

Who should apply

PhD students, postdocs and senior scientists interested in the systems biology approach applied to vaccine studies.

Minimal requirements

The course is mainly aimed at early career researcher (PhD students and post-docs) with an immunological background, but is open to scientists at any level and with different backgrounds. Although not compulsory, some confidence with R or other programming languages would be preferred (a basic R introduction can be found at https://r4ds.had.co.nz/index.html).

Accommodation

The whole course will be held online. Details to be provided by the training provider.
