Free Workshops on Animal Models
The TRANSVAC activities include a series of workshops on animal models organised by The Central Veterinary Institute (CVI) of Wageningen UR (NL). The TRANSVAC animal model workshops are directed at professionals involved in animal model use and development, vaccine immunology, vaccine product development, and vaccine safety assessment.
The first workshop entitled "From bench to trench? Necessity of animal models in pre-clinical vaccine research: required evidence for efficacy and safety" took place on 12 May 2011 (read report) at CVI. Different aspects of preclinical assessment were addressed such as: immunological read outs, statistical requirements, regulatory aspects, industries view, ethical aspects, and future perspectives. A second two-days workshop entitled "Linear mixed effects models" was held on 31 October and 1 November 2011 at the Health Protection Agency (HPA) in Porton Down (UK). Read the report of the second workshop.
A third workshop entitled "The asterix, who cares? Data analysis of animal studies with multi-variables and small number of animals" will take place on 06 June 2013 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Read the third workshop announcement. The registration dead-line to this free workshop has been extended to 22 May 2013.
A fourth workshop entitled "Update on the use of pig models for vaccine development" will take place on 20 September 2013 at CVI. More details will follow on this webpage.
